Buthaina Eidan

Buthaina Eidan was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. She has called Vermont home since 2016, after coming to the state in 2011 to pursue her education. She earned a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont.
Buthaina has worked across multiple school districts in a variety of roles, including ESL teacher, Arabic interpreter and translator, and part-time scheduler and administrative assistant with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) Vermont. She also taught an English course for the Iraqi Youth Leadership Exchange Program (IYLEP) through the Vermont Council of World Affairs and served as an instructor in a summer program for international students at Saint Michael’s College. Her commitment to education and serving students stems from a deep passion for equity, access, and meaningful learning experiences for all students.
Buthaina strives to be seen as a role model of resilience, compassion, and the pursuit of excellence in both her professional and personal life.
